EDUC 607 - Applications of Educational Research

This course prepares educators to design and conduct systematic classroom- and school-based inquiry as a foundation for professional practice. Grounded in the action research cycle, candidates develop skills to identify researchable problems within their own instructional contexts, critically evaluate relevant literature, and select appropriate qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches to generate meaningful data. Coursework guides candidates through the research process, including framing a researchable question, designing an investigation, collecting and analyzing data, interpreting findings, and developing an evidence-based action plan connected to instructional decision-making, student achievement, and/or school improvement.
