POLS 140 - Career Exploration and Student Skill Building

Credit Hours: 1

This course guides new criminal justice and political science majors through a wide range of career possibilities and develops skill sets which are necessary for scholarly and professional success in college and after graduation.  Course topics include information literacy, time management, critical reading skills, career preparation, resume and cover letter writing, and the development of self-reflective practices.  Students are expected to take this course in their first year or in the next semester after declaring one or both majors.
