CRMJ 335 - Victim Services

Credit Hours: 3

This course is designed to examine victimology, victim services, and victim advocacy. This course will explore victimology and assess the impact on victimization through victimological theories, available data, and the trauma and recovery process. In exploring these connections, we will analyze the victim-offender relationships, the interactions between victims and the criminal justice system, and the connections between victims and other institutions (such as law enforcement, the courts, corrections, the juvenile justice system, advocacy groups, and government). Additionally, this course includes effective responses to specific crime victims, including victims of family violence, sexual assault, and cyber-crime.
