MUSC 304 - Foundations of Western Art Music III Credit Hours: 3
This course is the third in a series of four on the history, theory, and literature of music in the Euro-American classical tradition. It presents the fundamental building blocks of Western music from the Classical era through Romanticism, including eighteenth- and nineteenth-century harmonies and harmonic progressions. By considering common structures, famous composers, and representative musical works, it examines the context, meaning, and impact of music in Western culture.
