ENGL 375 - Animals in Literature and Culture Credit Hours: 3
This course examines the representation of animals in literary works, film, and popular culture with an emphasis on the cultural construction of animals and animality. Students will be asked to think critically about how humans construct images of animals through language, literature, and art, and how those images intersect with arguments about gender, race, nation, and humanity itself.
Prerequisite: ENGL 121
