SOCI 216 - Contemporary Issues and Social Action


Credit Hours: 3

This course explores contemporary social issues in the United States using theoretical perspectives rooted in sociology. We will discuss the historical foundations and social construction of contemporary social problems, as well as change efforts and policies implemented in response. Students are encouraged to critically analyze social institutions that strive to address problems in society and analyze the web of relationships that perpetuate their existence.
