EDUC 383 - Integrated Language Arts Methods for Middle and Adolescent to Young Adult Educators


Credit Hours: 3

Provides knowledge and skills necessary to provide language arts instruction consistent with national and state language arts curriculum models to students in grades 4-12 with an emphasis on the use of a variety of instructional approaches appropriate for culturally and developmentally diverse classrooms, integrated and interdisciplinary instruction, and the Ohio Academic Content Standards. The course prepares students to utilize approaches to teaching and learning which integrate content relevant to students’ lives, honor individual differences, cultivate skills in recognizing and solving problems and provide awareness of relevant teaching tools, including manipulative materials and educational technology.

Prerequisite: EDUC 312  (or EDUC 309  or EDUC 313  or EDUC 314  for special education majors)
Co-requisite: EDUC 301  
Field Hours Requirement: Required field experience: 20 hours.
