JOURN 319 - Data Storytelling with AI

This upper-level writing course explores the intersection of data journalism and artificial intelligence (AI) in modern reporting. Students will learn how to source, analyze, and visualize data while understanding the ethical considerations of AI-driven journalism. Students will learn how to interpret data, craft narratives around complex datasets, and use AI tools for data analysis, fact-checking, and news writing. The course balances technical proficiency with journalistic integrity, ensuring students can communicate data-driven insights effectively while maintaining ethical reporting standards.
