This course explores the global interconnections between music and religion. It examines the role of music in religious doctrine, cultural belief systems, and community-based identities throughout history and across a range of religious traditions. These include: Jewish, Christian, Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Native American and African Diasporic sacred-music traditions.
