HLSC 215 - Epidemiology


Credit Hours: 3

This course will introduce students to basic concepts in epidemiology through a focus on disease surveillance and measurement, epidemiological study design, and analyses of epidemiologic data. Course concepts explored will include historical developments in epidemiology, data sources, the primary analytics designs, threats such as bias and random error, as well as means of establishing causal relationships.  

Prerequisite: MATH 140  or PSYC 231  or PSYC 232  or HLSC 304  or other statistics course as approved by instructor.
