It traces the path of the conflict from 1914-1918, focusing on major battles on land and at sea, and discusses the major military innovations of this era. It examines changes on the home front as well as how the home front had an impact on the war front and vice versa. It analyses the war’s political, demographic, and cultural impact, including its representations in literature, poetry, and film.
